​Cardon Discount A/C & Heating has an immediate need for experienced and motivated HVAC mechanic's.  Tech's and installers that are skilled in metal ductwork, commercial and residential projects.  Most projects are located in the greater Tampa & St. Pete area, however some out of town travel will be required.

Knowledge Needed ~
* Prepares for on-site installation, and/or repairs by examining building layout, gathering materials/tools needed
   and coordinating on-site work with the customer, Cardon office staff and field team
* Needs to be well versed in all areas of the HVAC industry 
* Ability to run copper piping and PVC

* Ability to organize work to hit goals, milestones and completion dates
* Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions 
   and decimals
* Understands and has mastered the refrigeration cycles including identifying components in advanced 
   refrigeration circuits, understanding how each component works, diagnosing and correcting the problems with 
   in the refrigeration circuit, using the manifold gauge set, pressure/temperature chart and temperature 
   measuring devices for routine maintenance and to troubleshoot
* Understands refrigeration recover, evacuation and charging
* Understands the installation and sizing of refrigerant piping
* Expert knowledge of the cooling & heating cycle to include: identifying components in the HVAC system, 
   understanding how each component works, diagnosing problems in the system using gas pressure test and other 
   devices for routine maintenance and to troubleshoot and repair the system
* Has mastered electron theory, how electricity travels, AC/DC currents, single phase and three phase circuits, 
   series and parallel circuits.  Ability to read advanced wiring diagrams.  Knowledge of Ohms Law. Ability to use 

   multi-meters to read voltage, current and resistance values. Must be able to troubleshoot advanced electric circuits
* Mastery level understanding of the fundamentals of temperature/humidity measurement and control in AC unit. 
   Understands the process of treating air as to simultaneously control it's temp, humidity, cleanliness and 
   distribution.  Ability to use a psychometric chart to determine the results of mixing air having various 
   properties. 
* Understands and has mastered all types of HVAC systems and how each component with the system operates in 
   conjunctions with the other components and how that impacts the overall operations of the system as a whole
* Install, repair, overhaul, tune-up, perform preventative maintenance and start-up all types of HVAC units and 
   equipment in both residential and commercial settings
* Knowledge of advanced heating and cooling load/loss calculations
* Knowledge of Windows operating systems

* Must be able to work, problem solve independently and in a team environment with little to no direction

Requirements ~
* EPA universal Certification
* HVAC Certification
* 5-10 years of experience as a HVAC Technician (experience in restaurants, retail locations, and high-rise 
   buildings preferred)
* OSHA 10 Certified preferred but not necessary

* Ability to lift and/or carry moderate weight 25-75 lbs, sit, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, reach, conduct 
   repetitive motions for 8+ hours a day
* Must have a valid drivers license with a clean record
* Must provide your own tools needed to perform installs & service calls
* Must be able to read, follow and build as per mechanical plans and electrical schematics

* $20-$35 per hour depending on experience
